Getting closer but not there yet!

The authorization for Norma is now also safely tucked away among the rest of my travel documents and I’ve pulled out some bags and suitcases from my closet to lend to the girls. We’re good to go!
Well, almost…
While all expenses in Spain are covered by the organizing institutions of the event (Government of Spain, UNESCO), the trip itself and the costs of getting ready for the trip aren’t. The country that sends its representatives is supposed to pay for the trip, but Honduras happens not the have any money for that purpose.

So MACHI / InHerit, the sponsor of our Maya Project (a project previously developed by Arte Acción Copán Ruinas, now independently run by former facilitators), generously offered to raise money for the trip. The problem is that getting the paper work ready cost us way more than anticipated. I also had to buy the girls some things, because they didn’t even own a pair of jeans, socks, tennis shoes or a bathing suit. And we’ll have to spend an extra night in Madrid and San Pedro Sula on the way back in order not to fly over the US and get the required visa. So all in all, the tickets are bought, papers are in order, our suitcases are as good as packed, but there’s a bit of a glitch in our travel plans… we’re still about $1,000 short…
So in order the get Dilcia and Norma across the ocean, we need help!!! Donations are tax deductible and can be made at the InHerit site.

All help is very much appreciated!!!!
